I enjoyed some late afternoon sun near Swan Lake today and lucked out as I came across a Great Horned Own and Barred Owl. This was a first for me, getting this close to owls. When I spotted the first owl it was deep in the trees and heavily backlit . When I looked through the view finder for a split second I said to myself, wou.. this looks like a cougar Not so! (see the last photo in the series below).
