Highland Dance - Behind the Scenes

Highland Dance in Vernon, BC

I spent a couple of hours at a highland dance competition on Saturday morning. Admittedly this is a whole new world for me. I was there mainly to capture photos of my friend’s daughter but I also walked around with my X-Pro 1 and took a few shots of the venue and the girls getting ready. Watching the concentration and anticipation was priceless much like the pipers setting the tone for the different dances. After listening to the bagpipes for a while I turned to my friend Calvin and said; "Where can you get a pint around here". He agreed with me that it would be a good idea but since the event was held at a church the idea probably wouldn't fly.

The photos in this post are captured with a Fujifilm X-Pro1 and XF 35mm f/1.4 R.
