Cycling the Traboulay PoCo Trail in Port Coquitlam

A woman in cycling the Traboulay PoCo Trail in Port Coquitlam, BC, Canada.

We loved the views towards Golden Ears Provincial Park from the Traboulay PoCo Trail in Port Coquitlam

The PoCo Trail - A Nice Getaway From Vancouver

We were looking to get away from the city and our familiar trails and picked the PoCo Trail in Port Coquitlam after studying the route which runs along three rivers, the Coquitlam, Fraser, and Pitt Rivers. The ride is mostly level with paved and packed dirt and gravel yet it is rated advanced. I believe this rating may be due to the length of 25 km, 15 miles.

Although we have often biked this kind of distance I would say we were ready for a brake when we completed the ride (we are in our late fifties). We had picked an early August afternoon so the weather was gorgeous but also quite warm.

We started our ride at Gates Park in Port Coquitlam and rode counterclockwise.

After leaving Gates Park you ride rural forest areas, and meadows, along the creek. Our favorite part of the trail is the stretches along the Fraser and especially Pitt River where the views toward Golden Ears are nothing short of spectacular.

We can warmly recommend this ride. We hope the photos below will be an inspiration to get out there on your bike.
