Vores Lille Orkester (Our Little Band)

We almost have impeccable timing with this post being exactly a year late. In the days leading up to Christmas, 2019, we spent time in Copenhagen with Family and Friends and one of the events we had looked forward to was an evening at Brønshøj Bodega with live music.

My brother, Søren’s lady/girl/super lead singer friend, Linda, is part of a wonderful duo named “Vores Lille Orkester” (Our Little Band) along with talented guitar player, Per. The event was a family birthday party but we snuck in anyway and met several of the local fans.

Party Band

“Vores Lille Orkester” is a self-described party band playing at weddings, birthdays, corporate gatherings, receptions, or summer fairs. As we found out they have an extremely varied repertoire and long setlist. They play anything from classic rock to pop, country-western, and of course Danish hits.

Roadie & Sound

Other than being the biggest fan my brother, Søren, has taken on the role of a roadie and sound engineer. The band had a newly acquired sound system and was eager to try it out. We all concurred, it sounded amazing.

When Søren was a young punk :) he played in a band and for years he was a high-ranking DJ. You could tell he enjoyed being back having a hand in the sound and was tapping his feet to the beat all night long.

As a wonderful bonus, we got the spend the evening with my nephew Nikolai and his buddy Mads. We shared a few beers, laughs, and it was great to catch up.

This was a superb way to wrap up our week in Copenhagen. The band was awesome and the crowd was with them the entire evening and through several encores. After the last song, we hurried home to bed as it was way past our bedtime :) The next morning we were driving to Jylland.
