Sarah and Brian's Wedding

Despite a few drops of rain early in the day June 8th turned out gorgeous for Sarah and Brian's wedding in Vernon. We met Sarah at JNS Studio where she had hair and makeup done. This is a cool spot. Check it out via the link above. The ceremony and reception were held in a wonderful private home nestled in the trees above Okanagan Lake near Ellison Park. Sarah and Brian had gathered up family and their closest friends for an intimate wedding. A first for me, I got to chauffeur the newly weds in their nice truck to photos in Polson Park and along Kin Beach. It was nice to spend time "one on one" with Sarah and Brian and hearing the story of how they met. The day was wrapped up nicely with a great BBQ back at the reception. Sarah and Brian are already off on the honeymoon and we wish them a great trip.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow

We are into a stream of showers, thunderstorms, rainbows and awesome looking clouds which makes for great photography if you ask me. At any given chance I will grab my camera and shoot these weather patterns. After the rain the clouds hang on the horizon and the air smells so clean. I love it. A few photos from the last couple of weeks. 

A good Vantage Point and a Long Lens

"Dad, the light is great. You should get out there with your camera". As you can tell she is a great help in getting me away from my computer and house tasks. The words were spoken this past Sunday evening and I hurried out there. I picked one of my favourite spots with a great view of Vernon close to where we live. As it turned out my choice of focal length was my 300mm lens paired with a 1.4x tele converter giving me a focal length of 420mm. The images are captured with with a Canon 5D Mark III.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

The 27th Street Theatre Co. Presents Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Directed by Lana O'Brien.  

I was at W.L. Seaton Secondary on Friday shooting the last dress rehearsal of the play and was in complete awe. I had such a great time, laughing out load and singing along to some of Andrew Lloyd Webber's catchy tunes from the sixties. There is some solid talent in this cast and the dancing and vocals were super cool. If you are looking for a way to lighten your mood or to have a good ol' time for a couple hours, this show is a must see. Check the poster below for more information.
